If you are looking for Northern California wedding venues, this part of Northern California is a beautiful place for destination weddings year-round! In fact, many couples choose a Nevada County destination wedding because there is so much to explore in our area, yet many Californians have never been here.
Onsite, the guesthouse can accommodate and sleep up to 16 guests. (Please note, stays in the Vineyard Guesthouse are booked separately through VRBO. We do offer substantial discounts for lodging when planning a wedding at Rough & Ready Vineyards!)
In the area, there are many hotels, bed and breakfasts, and other options for lodging. Many couples have used the property as a “hub” of sorts for their destination wedding and branched out into the area to enjoy all that the Gold Country has to offer!
Our vineyard is located in the Penn Valley and Rough and Ready areas. Rich in history, this area is breathtaking with the heritage oaks, spacious meadows, and winding roads that lead to all sorts of interesting places. The South Yuba River at Bridgeport is a popular spot to see some history and swim in the river or take an easy wildflower hike. Penn Valley offers some wonderful restaurant options and a number of fun boutiques, wineries, and recreational opportunities.
Up the hill in Grass Valley you will find hotels, many more restaurants, wineries, breweries, historical sites, and day spas. Nearby Nevada City has similar offerings, and between the two towns, there are plenty of options to fill the days for your destination wedding. Area lakes provide more opportunities for water sports and both biking and hiking are popular activities. These are also vibrant art and music communities!
