We had the honor of hosting Shawna and Lucas’ wedding at the Rough and Ready Vineyards. On a Saturday afternoon in September, we got to witness the celebration of their love story. We were so pleased to see their rustic vineyard wedding featured in Real Weddings Magazine!
 
“We started planning our wedding for September of 2021. The COVID pandemic played its hand, and we postponed our wedding for 2022,” Shawna and Lucas share in the Real Weddings story. “With the change of dates, it gave us a long engagement, which led to a long time to plan our wedding. We had so much support between the venue, and our family.”

When asked what the best part of their special day was, Lucas and Shawna shared, “We had a last dance that was just the two of us, while our guests were preparing for the exit. At this point in the day, it finally sunk in that we had actually gotten married. We had the entire song to soak up the night and had time for just us two!”

When asked what advice they have for soon-to-be-wed couples, Lucas and Shawna encouraged them to prepare for the unexpected.
 
“If there are certain things that you want a certain way, make sure there is a backup plan. For the other things, do not stress. The most important part is you and your partner. Everything else is just extra,” Lucas and Shawna shared in their interview with Real Weddings Magazine.
